We dug in the crates and pulled out the 20 year old Episode I Electronic CommTech Reader, we took new pictures and re-examined the technology. Please join us for a fresh look at the Electronic CommTech Reader!
Completing a full set of Episode I CommTech chips can be challenging because Hasbro canceled or delayed some figures which caused gaps in the CommTech chip numbering. In order to help you get organized and find out if you have a full set at home have a look at the Guide To CommTech Chips.
We've pulled out an Episode I booklet from 1999 and scanned in all the pages. This turned out to be a lot of fun and it's interesting to see what Star Wars figures were advertised, you'll find Episode I figures in it, but they also mixed the Original Trilogy in with some Power Of The Force figures. Towards the back you find the board and electronic games which were hip at the time. Go and have fun looking at all the toys!
We've added every commtech chip from the 1999 Episode I Collection to the database. Each figure entry now shows the chip and you can listen to all the voice samples. Keep in mind that the technology is 20 years old now and some of the voice samples sound quite distorted. It was a fun toy line with a neat gimmick, have fun browsing the Episode I collection and listen to the voice samples!
Episode I focus collector Manoah Crane is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of The Phantom Menace by giving away some custom made patches! We think they turned out great, tap on the image to visit his page on Facebook and stay tuned to J.B. for a give-away coming up in the near future!

Hi fellow Star Wars action figure collectors and Star Wars fans! April 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of Star Wars Celebrations and in only a few weeks (May 3rd) we'll celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Episode 1 toy line! In order to celebrate this truly iconic moment I dug in the archives and pulled out an interview with Dan Madsen, which a few years later I am still fascinated by. There are not many people who have contributed to Star Wars fandom as much as Dan, his passion for Star Wars and hard work laid the foundation for this generation's Star Wars fandom. His stories about running the Lucasfilm Fan Club in the 80's and 90's, the Star Wars Insider, exclusive fan club Star Wars figures, organizing Star Wars Celebration I in 1999, meeting George Lucas, secret knocks on doors inside Skywalker Ranch, being an extra in Episode I, watching George Lucas cut the Episode I trailer, and the excitement inside Lucasfilm before Episode I was released, all those stories are truly exciting and not to be missed! Listen now and subscribe please!
We've updated the database today with two Disney/Star Wars mash-up figures. The first one is Donald Duck as Darth Maul from Series 6 and the second figure is the build-a-figure of Goofy as TC-14.
To learn more about each figure have a look here please!
You can now find Hasbro's 3.75" Force Link 2.0 figures of Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and Probe Droid in the database. Take a look at each entry to learn more about the figures:
Bandai has put up for pre-order Darth Maul's Bloodfin vehicle. The speeder is going to be released exclusively in Japan in April 2018 and it will cost 5,184 yen (roughly 46USD). The set will include a display stand, a reconnaissance droid and special soft-goods robes for Darth Maul so that he can sit on the vehicle well. The S.H. Figuarts Darth Maul figure from 2015 will be re-released this November separately from the vehicle. Please have a look at the images below.
