MORE INFORMATION

  • R7-D4 was released in an Entertainment Earth exclusive 6-pack in October 2016
  • The entire set included astromech droids of Jabba's Bartender, R7-F5, QT-KT, R7-D4, R2-C2 and R2-A5
  • All the astromech droid molds used for this set are identical, Hasbro used this particular sculpt first for The Vintage Collection R2-D2 #25
  • This version of R7-D4 is a realistic interpretation of the droid which was seen in the Clone Wars cartoon
  • Hasbro also released a version of R7-D4 in 2011 in an animated style
  • You can compare both astromech droids side by side here: R7-D4 VS. R7-D4
  • The front panel can be opened and one of the tools can be manually extended
  • Unfortunately, every astromech droid in the set reviewed here on J.B. had issues keeping the panel closed all the way
  • The dome can be rotated 360 degrees (no clicking sound), but the sensorscope needs to be taken out first
  • When the middle leg is pushed into the body, the sensorscope pops out of the dome
  • When the sensorescope is pused into the dome, the middle leg will extend out
  • The left and right leg each have two wheels in them so that the droid can be moved around
  • A nice detail which is included on all the astromech droids in this set are the cables on the front of the feet (newer Disney Build-A-Droids don't have this detail anymore)
  • R7-D4 stands well on display without any balancing issues
  • The figure was painted nicely without any factory errors or smudges on the droid
  • You can buy this gift set here: Astromech Droid Gift Set
