  • This R4-Unit astromech droid was released in a 4-pack together with a CZ Droid, BB-Unit and 3PO Protocol Droid
  • The set was available on opening day of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland, CA on May 31, 2019
  • This droid changes colors based on the temperature, it can be displayed with a black body (cold) or a white/green body (warm)
  • The color change can be achieved by either dipping the droid in cold or warm water, or by simply placing it in a freezer or rubbing it with your hands to warm the figure up
  • The droid's original color when it was still in its packaging was black, that's why we photographed it in its black color for the website entry
  • To see both color variants next to each other have a look here
  • The recommended temperature mentioned on the packaging for the color change to occur is 86° to 107.6° Fahrenheit (30° - 42° Celsius) and 32° - 64° Fahrenheit (0° - 18° Celsius)
  • Once the droid's color has changed it will remain in this color, however, if you have it displayed with the color in its cold state, and you touch it to adjust the pose, it will likely warm up the figure and the color will change where you touched it
  • For this R4-Unit astromech droid Disney used their build-a-droid sculpt, this allows for the droid to be taken apart into the dome, 3 legs and the body
  • There were no accessories included with this R4-Unit astromech droid and there are no hidden panels or gadgets built in
  • The dome can be rotated 360°
  • The middle leg can be unplugged so that the droid can be displayed in a two-legged position
  • The figure keeps its balance very well without falling over

All different types of droids populate the galaxy. Each droid is different and has their own unique personality and colors. These droids have the special ability to change color!

Take your figure and find the date stamp on it (look on the back of the thighs, bottom of the feet etc...)
  • If you can't find a year printed on the figure check if it has a 5 digit number printed on it, enter it below and we'll pull up all the figures in the database which has the same number.
