Fans and collectors of Hasbro's 3.75" action figure line wish Hasbro would return to the times between 2005 and 2012 when almost every 3.75" Star Wars action figure released was well articulated. Not only were those Star Wars figures nicely detailed, but Hasbro also released a lot of background droids and obscure alien characters (and even included diorama pieces with some figures!) which helped SW figure collectors to round out displays and dioramas.
With Hasbro's focus on a new Star Wars movie every year, and the focus of the main 3.75" action figure line on kids, there is little room to satisfy the demand of long-time and older Star Wars action figure collectors. Currently the only retailer to offer super articulated 3.75" Star Wars figures by Hasbro is Walmart, which has about 16 different figures per year with roughly half of them being re-releases of older figures.
On this week’s episode, Jake and Criz Bee discuss the release of Rogue One on home video, the conclusion of last week’s Star Wars Rebels episode and some of the great deals that can be found currently at retail. The hosts then address listener feedback on what the future of Hasbro figure line might look like and they discuss the possibility of a Hasbro Star Wars action figure subscription service. Figuarts coming to Disney Stores, and the upcoming return of Hondo Onaka in Star Wars Rebels. In the past JediBusiness.com featured Kenner and Hasbro 3.75" Star Wars action figures exclusively, but in 2013 The Black Series 6" line came along and we decided to do our first expansion after 11 years. Now almost four years later it's time to expand yet again! We are excited to announce that in addition to Hasbro's 3.75" and 6" Black Series lines, we'll be adding Disney's Elite Series Die Cast 7" line. And with that come a few changes.
Our Star Wars action figure master list has now a new filter which lists figures for Kenner 3.75", Hasbro 3.75", Hasbro's Black Series 6" and now Disney Elite Series Die Cast as well. Website sections which list Star Wars action figures by movie, by character, species, holograms, pilots, bounty hunters etc... will now show a second drop down filter where figures can be sorted by brand and size. Look for the second drop down right below the "Quick Links" drop down.
To accommodate Disney's Elite Series die cast figures the main navigation has changed slightly to make room for the Disney section.
Over the next few weeks we will keep adding figures to the Disney Elite Series Die Cast section, please be patient!
Thanks for your time everybody and MTFBWY!
We have a new logo! When we went live with the site re-design last year we also went live with our main logo, which we will continue to use on the website and which you will still find on all the images we take of figures. However, there are cases when a long logo like the one we have on the website doesn't work as well (the Facebook profile pic for example is square), and so we asked the incredibly talented Jorge Baeza (if you are unfamiliar with his work, please have a look at his website and his art work) to help out yet again and create a new version of it. The center of the logo, which has two vintage Kenner lightsabers crossed, gives tribute to the original vintage toy line which started it all! Anyways, we hope you like the round version of the J.B. logo as much as we do!
In this week’s episode, Criz Bee and Jake Stevens celebrate 20 years of the Star Wars Special Editions! The hosts share their stories of experiencing the rebirth of Star Wars on two different continents while covering each of the action figures that have been released based upon the 1997 re-releases. Throw in some speculation about the upcoming 40th Anniversary Collection, what the title of Episode VIII really means, UK Toy Fair, a rundown of the week’s news and the collector calendar for Episode 44 of TOY RUN: The Star Wars Action Figure Cast. Listen now and subscribe!
We've added additional filters to the master list, you can now sort Star Wars action figures by Kenner 3 3/4", Hasbro 3 3/4" and Hasbro 6". This is in addition to sorting by letter, name, title, toy line, scale and brand. Have fun playing around:
This week on TOY RUN, Stephen Danley, co-host of the Star Wars vintage collecting podcast The ‘Chive Cast AKA The Vintage Pod, shares his adventures running Star Wars marathons, collecting B-Wing Pilots and recently appearing on Mark Hamill’s Pop Culture Quest series. Also Criz Bee and Jake begin planning for Celebration Orlando, discuss what they are finding on store shelves and announce the winner of the Rebels Princess Leia giveaway.
