Clone Tank Gunner Review

This animated style Clone Tank Gunner was released in 2009 during The Clone Wars Collection. The figure was packed-in exclusively together with the Clone Turbo Tank vehicle. Clone Tank Gunners have appeared in various Clone Wars episodes, but only briefly and it's difficult to spot them.

The Clone Trooper is a repaint of the Clone Tank Gunner figure from 2009's AT-TE Assault Squad battlepack. The Clone Tank Gunner is super articulated with 14 points of articulation, including ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, the waist, both knees and ankles! The only swivel joint is in the hip. The trooper keeps the balance pretty well, and the included blaster is a good fit for either hand. The helmet, chest plate and the shoulder protection plates are not removable.

The paint application on the animated-style Clone Tank Gunner is cleanly applied and different from all other released Clone Tank Gunners so far. Unfortunately, the trooper is kept in a clean, all white armor, without any dirt on the boots or battle markings. The figure's sculpt is super articulated, which allows for more dynamic battle poses. Overall, the Clone Tank Gunner looks unique enough from other releases and was a nice bonus addition when you bought the Clone Turbo Tank.

Packaging Text

The RepublicGÇÖs Clone Turbo Tank is bristling with weapons and covered with thick armor. This ten-wheel titan plows through every obstacle in its path. Clone troopers take aim from laser turrets and missile ports as this heavy assault behemoth crushes anything under its massive wheels. A true mobile fortress - the Clone Turbo Tank can deploy a company of troopers and a full recon speeder team - and also serve as an armored command bunker for extended ground sieges.
