General Grievous Review

This General Grievous was released individually carded during The Vintage Collection in early September 2010. The figure is based on General Grievous' appearance in Revenge Of The Sith.

The figure is a repaint of the previously released General Grievous from The Legacy Collection in 2008. This time Hasbro included a fantastic, non-bulky cloak with the figure, which fits very nicely. It can also house 8 lightsaber hilts on the inside, which is great! The cloak in the movie though had only room for six sabers. Besides the cloak, Hasbro included a blaster, 2 lightsaber hilts and a green and a blue lightsaber. Unfortunately, all weapons still fit only very loosely into the hands, except for the blaster, which fits OK. If you'd like to display General Grievous in a more open, mechanical way, you can remove the neck piece and the chest plates, which reveal some inner parts.

This General Grievous is probably the figure with the most articulated body parts released in the Star Wars line. It has 24 points of articulation, including a ball-jointed neck, 4 ball-jointed shoulders, 4 ball-jointed elbows, 4 swivel underarms, 4 swivel wrists, a ball-jointed waist, 2 swivel legs, 2 ball-jointed knees and 2 ball-jointed ankles. Unfortunately, the plastic used for the figure is more on the softer side, and it might take a while to balance him out.

The paint application on General Grievous is well applied, and way less dirty than the previously released Grievous. This is very apparent when comparing both head sculpts. Aesthetically, the figure looks great, and captures the look of General Grievous perfectly. Add to that a very well designed, non-bulky cloak, lots of weapons and removable parts, and you have an overall fantastic General Grievous action figure, despite the fact that he has trouble holding the weapons.
